Appellate Practice

Other attorneys and clients have called upon Mr. Cork for appellate representation or amicus briefs in over eighty cases. He has served on the leadership committee of the Appellate Practice Section of the State Bar of Georgia from 2001 to present, and served as Chair of the Section in 2004-2005. He has served on the Amicus Curiae Committee of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association since 1995, and was Chair of the Committee from 1998 to 2004. Civil Practice

Mr. Cork has been employed to represent clients or to associate or consult with other lawyers in a broad range of civil practice matters. Such employment occurs on a broad range of hourly, fixed or contingent fees.

ERISA and Insurance

Mr. Cork is often employed to obtain coverage in a wide variety of insurance disputes. He has taken a leadership role in the fight to defend other lawyers' clients against reimbursement requests under ERISA.

Constitutional Law and Tort Reform

Mr. Cork was employed by the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association in 2005 to research and recommend strategies for dealing with the tort reform legislation (SB3) enacted that year. He has remained an active volunteer on the committee charged with responding to that legislation.

Eminent Domain and Inverse Condemnation

Mr. Cork has represented clients in numerous condemnation matters and associated with other lawyers on such cases. He has been at the forefront of developing the law in cases of business losses and temporary takings.
